The whisky tasting.
I'm spending New Year at a hill country farm in Hawke's Bay, enjoying red wine and single malt whisky (Laphroaig). Will also be walking, visiting vineyards, and bird watching - hill country farmland is great for watching harrier hawks on the wing. No internet access from tomorrow.
These are my New Year's resolutions:
- drink more Islay single malt whisky (don't know if I can stick to that one);
- spend more time training my gun dog to retrieve (I hate wading through cold swamp water while dogs stay warm and dry on the bank);
- read and write more (I've got Christmas gift book tokens to burn).
Wishing all my readers and blogfriends a great New Year.

Happy New Year Strategist! I wish you and your family a healthy New Year. I hope you can stick to your first, and most important resolution.
I look forward to reading your blog during the New Year!

Happy New Year Peter! Enjoy your time at Hawke's Bay. That sounds like a really good time.
As for your first resolution just remember the words of Mark Twain: "Too much of anything is too much but too much whiskey is just right."
